While most people will consider the floor plan to be the most unsettling aspect of designing a small kitchen, it doesn’t need to be. Even though you have very little room to pack all the appliances in and still have plenty of counter space to work with, you can give yourself that space by adding in a small island in the center of the kitchen.

This doesn’t have to be one of those massive ones you see on TV; instead, this can be a small island that is movable to give you extra counter space.

The other aspect that used to give people headaches when they were designing a small kitchen is the appliances. In the past, it was difficult to design a small kitchen around larger appliances, but these days you can find all kinds of appliances that will fit into smaller kitchens.

These smaller appliances have a small dimension, so that they can fit into smaller counters and still give you the ability to have the best application you can afford. This will make designing a small kitchen area much easier on you.

Storage is another problem that a lot of people have issues with, but little things like hanging your pots and pans from a rack over your center kitchen island can give you plenty of storage space for the other things you need.

Not only will it give you more space, but you won’t have to hunt and search for the things you need because they are out in plain view. This makes cooking much easier on you as well as giving you more space.
